MEET THE CHARACTERS
Ryan O'Connor
An angry and scared 17 year old teen who is also fat. His dad passed away two years ago. Since then he has had to learn how to be a man quick. He is angry at the world. and at his mom Lauren He questions God. He turns to science, history, math. He is a reclusive. Brilliant when it comes to computers. He speds his nights at home watching The History Channel, and The Discovery Channel. All in an attempt to answer his questions. Girls are a mystery to him he is interested but doesn't know how to approach them. The one thing that makes him truly happy is country music.
Riley Jones
Perky 18 year old girl. She is a social butterfly. She likes conversation, she likes to hear others opinions and how they came to their conclusions. She is always participating in school events. Every body loves Riley.
Lauren O'Connor
Ryan's mom, and a strong lady. She loves Ryan. But her tone can get harder and her voice loud. The only way she knows how to motive Colt is through direct confrontation even if he is always defiant. She is still grieving the loss of her husband Gordon, and is worried about the future of Ryan.
Gordon O'Connor
Ryan's Dad. A thin tall man. His five tours of duty left him scarred. Before his death at 52 he did the best if could with Ryan. But he and Ryan were both hard-headed. He loved to hunt. He handed down a profound respect of the military to Ryan. After his death Ryan was left wishing he wouldn't have worked so many hours.
William Brink
Ryan's grand father. He served in WWII but he doesn't like to talk about it. An emotional man, he isn't afraid to shed a tear occasionally. Full of knowledge. Ryan is sad he doesn't get to see him much.
Ben Delany
Ben is Colts friend. And being 16 he is into anything fast, and anything sports. Hey loves to go snowmachining and frequently drags Ryan along. He us really good at pushing Colt out of his safety zone. Besides he needs Ryan's truck to haul his snowmachine.
Dan Brewster
Dan Brewster is Ryan's friend. He is the same age as Ryan. He has Ryan's love for music, but his tastes lean more towards techno and house. Dan can challenge Colt's logic. The two don't agree on politics but they make a great team on World of Warcraft
Bobby Jones
Riley's dad. A proud Texan who loves Alaska. He worked the oil fields of Texas most of his life, but after his wife died. So with his daughter in tow he took a job with th Alyeska Pipeline. He now works in town. Not two on and two off like he did in Texas. He did a lot a hunting with Gordon O'Connor. They were friends but Ryan doesn't know that
Tim Humble
Ryans mentor. When ever Ryan has questions about life he asks Tim. A big man, and a machining He own one of the local auto shops. He does has a past a cocaine, and alcohol, but with the help of counciling, and God he was able to kick those habits years ago.
Adele Jaiden
Adele is Ryans half sister. She is part Alaskan native. She lives in Phoenix. She is also Lauren's child. She is more understanding than Lauren but can be just as sharp.
Robynne Knecht
She is Dan Bruington girlfriend. She loves books, writing, and world of warcraft.

Noise Dive
Ryan Connor sees a car along the side of the road while driving home from Anchorage. He stops and gets out. The driver does as well. He knows her. It's Riley Jones from his class. Although they didn't talk much Ryan knew Riley And being the Alaskan that he was, he walked up to her. And said, are you okay? Do you need a ride? Riley replied with "O it's Ryan, right?" "Yes" he responded appreciative that he even knew his name. Yeah, I'm so glad you came along. It's getting cold and I didn't know what I was gonna do. Ryan responded with it's the only what any good Alaskan would do. This brought a smile to Riley's face. So yeah, if you could take me to Adeles house that would be awesome. Do you know where Adele Yates lives? No, I don't. I was said, Ryan, but let's get you warm in the truck first. Riley smiled a that was a good idea. As she said. They both got in the truck and drove off. Riley called her dad said she was okay. Let him know where the vehicle was. And then let him know that she was in ryan ,brinks vehicle after concluding the call. The first instruction she gave Ryan was. The First Lunch
Ryan arrives at school he proceeds throught the day like normal. Except for Small Engines, and Woodshop all his other classes bore him at lunch he starts to head to his truck to eat lunch. But then he remembers the note. Hoping Riley isn't leading him on he heads for the cafeteria.
The Jones' House
Ryan stood frozen in the Jones' entryway, the warmth of the house doing nothing to thaw the sudden chill in his chest. Bobby Jones emerged from the kitchen wiping his hands on a towel, his Texas accent filling the space. 'Well I'll be damned—you're Gordon's boy.' Ryan's breath caught. Bobby's eyes grew misty as he continued, 'Your daddy saved my life on a hunt back in '08. Told me about you every time we shared a whiskey.' Riley watched Ryan's face, seeing the angry boy who questioned God suddenly confronted with his father's living legacy. 'He said you were the reason he came home from those tours,' Bobby said quietly, placing a hand on Ryan's shoulder. The world didn't just get warmer—it gained weight.
The gift
Ryan is lying in bed and can't sleep the warm feelings from hours before still enveloping him. Her sends a text to Riley thanking her and her dad for dinner
